It is understood to be true that Yarsagumba’s popularity escalated when people all over the globe became aware of it as “Himalayan Gold” or “Himalayan Super Herbal”. Yarsagumba, also known as Yarshagumba, is originally from the Latin words cordyceps sinensis, which refers to summer plant or winter insect in Tibetan. The herb is usually produced by the fungus that is brought by the spores of the cordyceps mushroom settling on the caterpillar’s face, which eventually consumes the latter causing it to expire dried out.
The Yarchagumba herb is a different kind of growth that only survives in dry valleys or flatlands more than 3,500 meters above ground in the Himalayan locations as well as in Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan. The herb is most used as the residents’ general remedy for all kinds of diseases like soreness and belly aches. Others reportedly use the herb to fix problems like liver disorders and leukemia. Additionally, studies have been presented that Yarsagumba has things like antibiotic properties, cordycepin acid, fatty acid, vitamin B1, and zinc. Some also think it can cure impotency, which makes it quite popular. Some scientists even consider the potentiality that Yarsagumba might be a cure for the big C.
It is the broadening awareness of people involving the last use of Yarshagumba that has broken the typical peace in this far away place. On one side, there are the Nepalese people who are defending their local traditions and territory; and on the other side, the outsiders hoping to make cash out of the plant’s use.
To note, the international use of Yarchagumba has grown over the last couple of years, which is typically at their height during the dry months of May and June in Nepal. This involved the participation not only of the foreign nationals, but also of some desperate local villagers particularly in the city ofDolpa, Western Nepal wherein at least 50% of Yarchagumba is said to be found. Currently, a kilo of Yarshagumba might fetch more than 10K. At this price, it is easy to realize why it’s such a benefit for leaders to get involved with the foreigners when it comes to benefiting from the crop.
